In this episode of Ai LIVE, the vibrant Ashely Longshore talks about her path to becoming a renowned artist, and the wisdom she wants to share with aspiring artists.
Design isn't just logos, packaging, and web banners. It's connecting with consumers, building brands, and delivering unexpected solutions. And if you’re truly serious about your craft, it can be a launching pad for your ideas, your career, even your own business. If you want to have a real say in the creative process, the place to start is our Design & Media Management degree program. In this master's degree program, you’ll study business, management, and technology as you have the opportunity to learn to work as a team member and develop both your creative and business skills. We’ll show you how to manage a staff of designers from a business perspective. You’ll be surrounded and inspired by other talented, creatively driven students. And you’ll be pushed, challenged, and, above all else, supported by experienced faculty*. It’s anything but easy. But nothing worthwhile ever is.
*Credentials and experience levels vary by faculty and instructors. Our Design & Media Management program can prepare you to start a career where you help guide the creative process. If you see yourself leading a team of creative people, here are two things that will help: A serious work ethic and our Design & Media Management graduate program. This is a rigorous program that was created to help students pursue opportunities in management in a range of art and design settings. The program encompasses art and business, design and data analysis, and media and business skills. You’ll choose either a Design Management or Media Arts Management focus as you explore the theory and practice of inspiring people to do their best work.
You’re creative. But you’ve also got a head for business. That’s not a conflict, that’s core talent you can build on in our Design & Media Management curriculum. You'll explore both disciplines as you study:
• Building & Leading Creative Teams
• Academic Writing & Research
• Law, Policy & Ethics in Design & Media Arts
• Information Management & New Technology in Design & Media Arts
• Assessment & Analysis for Managers in Design & Media Arts
• Design & Media Arts Innovation: Marketing Planning & Strategy
• Entrepreneurship in Design/Entrepreneurship in Media Arts
• Planning, Producing & Promoting a Design Venture/Planning, Producing & Promoting a Media Arts Venture
• Capstone courses
At The Art Institutes system of schools, creativity is our core, our calling, our culture. Our Design & Media Management degree program is built on that creative foundation. It’s also built on our knowledge that a creative career is not for the faint of heart. Because it’s tough out there, it’s tough in here. But we temper the tough with the support you need to make your creativity marketable. We provide the mentoring and real-world experience you need to prevail, with faculty* who’ve worked in the field and internship possibilities at successful businesses. Here, you’ll be encouraged and expected to be bold. To take risks. To push yourself and the people around you. So if your heart is telling you that you belong in a creative field, you belong here. It’s the hardest thing you’ll ever love.
