Benjamin Burle is working as an interior and landscape designer for residential and commercial properties in Miami and Key West, Florida. His typical work days include meetings at a design showroom, site visits to projects, and selecting planting materials at a nursery. Benjamin enjoys putting pencil to paper to conceptualize a project. “I enjoy being able to transform people’s lives by editing and designing special spaces,” he says.
Benjamin’s design style is minimalist. He says that Burle Yates Design takes pride in creating projects that offer a high level of tranquility and sophistication in the subtropics. “I am most proud of being able to work with my talented mother and design partner, creating well designed space for our clients,” he adds. Benjamin is a recipient of the Stars on the Rise award from Design Center of the America. In January 2014, one of his projects was featured on the “Old Island Restoration House Tours.” He was also profiled in Miami Magazine in March 2013.
Benjamin, who in 2010 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Miami International University of Art & Design, says that his instructors provided real-world advice that helped him in his career. He recommends that current interior design students never stop growing professionally. “Learn from others, especially those who have had great success in your profession, and try to implement any advice they may have that has worked for them. Stay true to your design vision.”
