Marlon Munoz is a manager and lead 3D and motion designer at SapientNitro, an agency that creates integrated messaging across brand communications and digital platforms. Based in Miami, Marlon manages and directs the 3D motion team and is responsible for creating all of the CG and motion content for the company’s clients worldwide.

“Every project is different,” he says. “It’s how you take time to understand the request and come with a solution that will help the workflow.” Marlon explains that in addition to his work at SapientNitro, he is a freelancer and takes the time to keep up with evolving technology. In his current role, Marlon has won multiple awards and worked on interactive vending machines for a major beverage company. He’s also created augmented reality and virtual reality experiences.

Marlon, who in 2008 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics from Miami International University of Art & Design, says that his education helped him to learn the principles of design and 3D. It also provided motion software knowledge that allowed him to transition into his career. Marlon adds that he continues to grow as an artist, having been recently featured in local galleries for his 3D/FX acrylic and brushed aluminum prints. “I’ve also been doing many 3D projection instillations—the latest was for Filmgate Interactive Conference – Tech Playground. I’m challenged by the opportunity to take my ideas and bring them to life.”
