Gourmet Gallery Restaurant

Gourmet Gallery Restaurant is a student-run restaurant that's open to the public. Located at The International Culinary School at The Art Institutes International Minnesota, Gourmet Gallery Restaurant serves as the dining lab for students in the culinary program, offering a unique combination of real-world experience and instructional content.

Under the direction of Chef Michael Autenrieth, culinary students nourish and delight patrons while taking the final steps on their path to becoming culinary professionals. From food ordering and preparation to guest seating and serving, Gourmet Gallery Restaurant is a complete instructional environment for students that offers a quality dining experience to its patrons.

The Art Institute of Michigan Teams Up with the Rachael Ray Show to Provide Cooking Lessons The Art Institute of Michigan Teams Up with the Rachael Ray Show to Provide Cooking Lessons

The Art Institute of Michigan is teaming up with the Rachael Ray Show to provide cooking lessons to the students enrolled at Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program. During filming of the Rachael Ray Show’s Thanksgiving episode, on Monday, November 16, Ray unveiled a completely renovated kitchen for the students, complete with new appliances and a study space. To help Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program get the most out of this new kitchen, The Art Institute of Michigan is going to provide four lessons/demos on healthy eating and nutrition at the gym throughout the next year. 

Three culinary instructors from The Art Institute of Michigan appeared on the show to announce the gift of the cooking lessons, and the episode will air Wednesday, November 25. The Art Institutes International Minnesota Participates in Charlie Awards The Art Institutes International Minnesota Participates in Charlie Awards

(Minneapolis, November 2015)  Culinary, fashion, media arts and design students at The Art Institutes International Minnesota are taking part in the Charlie Awards, on Sunday, November 15. The Charlie Awards is an annual event that celebrates the exceptional contributions of the Twin Cities area restaurant, food and beverage industry. Below is a recap of all of the great work the students are doing for event:

Culinary students created truffles that they will pass out, along with providing butler service.
Media Arts students created a video of all of nominees who are entered for a prize drawing.
A Graphic Design student created a poster of the nominees entered for a prize drawing.
Fashion students made garments from recycled materials, with one student incorporating materials from all of the sponsors
An Interior Design student created a table out of cheese boxes from sponsor Land ‘O Lakes. The top of the table is covered with boxes from all of the sponsors.

Students Design Holiday Couture at Galleria Students Design Holiday Couture at Galleria

WHO/WHAT:

Fashion students at The Art Institutes International Minnesota are getting into the holiday spirit with an avant garde holiday design competition. Using festive holiday décor, from garland and greenery to pinecones and feathers, students will dress 15 6-foot dress forms that will decorate Galleria for the holiday season. Voting for the best dress is open to the public: at Galleria, by text or on the Galleria Facebook page. The winner will be announced on Monday, November 23 and will be featured in one of three oversized frames located at the Pottery Barn atrium. The remaining dresses will be displayed throughout Galleria.

Culinary Students Offer Demos at Minnesota Orchestra event Culinary Students Offer Demos at Minnesota Orchestra event

(Minneapolis, MN, October 2015)  Culinary students at The Art Institutes International Minnesota will participate in A Musical Feast with Sarah Hicks and the Minnesota Orchestra on Saturday, November 7 at 8pm at Orchestra Hall. During the event the orchestra will accompany culinary demonstrations by chefs from four Minnesota restaurants. The chefs will join the orchestra on stage to create their dishes in front of the audience. Ai Minnesota students will offer cooking demonstrations and samples of their creations in the lobby before the concert and during intermission.
