The Art Institute of California—Orange County, a campus of Argosy University, in partnership with General Assembly and the American Institute of Graphic Arts Orange County, will host renowned designer Aaron Draplin on campus May 30, 2017. Draplin will hold an on-campus workshop for students at 1pm.
Draplin’s client list includes Coal Headwear, the Union Binding Company, Snowboard Magazine, Ride Snowboards, Forum Snowboards, Grenade Gloves, Chunklet Magazine, Cobra Dogs, Absinthe Films, NemoDesign, Gnu Snowboards, RVL7 Apparel, Burton Snowboards, K2 Snowboards, Bonfire Snowboarding Apparel, South American Snow Sessions, and the Obama administration. He’s spoken at Adobe MAX and TedX conferences.
Following the workshop, Draplin will hold a talk at the Newport Beach Conference center to discuss his book, Pretty Much Everything. The talk is described as a harrowing account of creating the book—from “contracts to the scheming, from the pagination to the design, from the tears to the nightmares, we'll share what it’s like to cram your whole half-wit career into 256 pages.”
