When it comes to the final product, it’s still about the fun throughout the creative process. That makes a film or edit worthwhile. Organizes New Media, Delivers Finished Edits to Clients

Jack Germain is a media manager and assistant editor for Parallel Sea Productions, responsible for creating social media and editing projects. He says that a typical day includes organizing new media and delivering finished products to clients. He adds that his industry requires a commitment to lifelong learning. “I’m constantly watching programming tutorials and following trends with new camera equipment.” He also works to overcome challenges by viewing each experience as an opportunity to learn something new.

Jack balances fun and seriousness at work—creating an environment that promotes creativity and solid products. “When it comes to the final product, it’s still about the fun throughout the creative process. That makes a film or edit worthwhile.”

Jack, who in 2017 earned a Bachelor of Science in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production from The Art Institute of California—Orange County, says that his education provided the foundation to become a filmmaker. “It showed me techniques that professionals use in the industry and gave me the space to learn real workplace scenarios.” He adds that his instructors helped him to realize that the industry is demanding—and that to succeed, students must be prepared and ready to work hard.
