The Art Institute of Philadelphia Gives Back to Academy Park High School
June 23, 2017
The Art Institute of Philadelphia, in Partnership with “Adopt a Classroom,” recently donated to teachers at Academy Park High School, George Washington High School, Louis E. Dieruff High School, and Lakewood High School. The monetary donation will be used to buy art supplies for the teachers’ classrooms.
According to Adopt a Classroom, more than 15 million children don’t have the resources they need to succeed in school. The organization adds that teachers spend more than $1.6 billion a year stocking their own classrooms due to a lack of funding in schools.
The Art Institute of Philadelphia’s high school representative Tina Howell presented a check to Academy Park High School on February 16, 2017. Academy Park High School guidance counselor Caitlin Parenti said, “[it was] such a sweet, generous thought that [The Art Institute of Philadelphia] had chosen us.”
The check presentation at Academy Park High School was covered in the News of Delaware County. See the full article here:
