The Art Institute of Philadelphia recently attended the 2018 Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference at the Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor, PA. Two of our admissions representatives were in attendance along with more than 550 students and teachers from across the state, all from Family & Consumer Sciences and related Career and Technical Education programs.

The conference included a variety of educational workshops and competitive events. Our admission representative Tiana Howell judged the baking and pastry competitions, while admissions representative Taylor Gebhart hosted an exhibitor’s station and spoke with high school students from vocational tech schools in the Philadelphia area.

The Art Institute of Philadelphia also awards FCCLA tuition scholarships at the state level in the Culinary Arts, Fashion Construction, Fashion Design, Hospitality Tourism and Recreation, and Interior Design competitions. This year, the school presented the following tuition scholarships at the awards ceremony.

  • First place: $1,000 renewable up to 4 years
  • Second place: $750 renewable up to 4 years
  • Third place: $500 renewable up to 4 years

Congratulations to all FCCLA tuition scholarship winners!
