Daily Herald: "Culinary Faculty Named Pastry Chef of the Year"

Chris Cwierz, chef instructor at The Art Institute of Phoenix, was named American Culinary Federation 2014 Western Region Pastry Chef of the Year. This award is presented to a pastry chef who has displayed a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry field and has given back through the education of others by sharing his or her skills and knowledge. With a rich background in the culinary world, Chris worked as an executive pastry chef and previously won a bronze medal at the 2012 Internationale Kochkunst Ausstellung (IKA), or the "culinary Olympics," in Erfurt, Germany, Cwierz exemplifies these characteristics. He was also named ACF Chef's Association of Arizona, Inc. Pastry Chef of the Year in 2013.
