(Phoenix, October 2015)  On October 16, at the Phoenician Resort, over 400 hundred guests from around the valley witnessed the culmination of eight months of planning, hard work and collaboration between The Art Institute of Phoenix, Fashion by Robert Black, Nth Degree Technology, and Galina Couture; in a Fashion Show titled, “60 years of Fashion and UCP”.

The fashion show was the highlight of this major fundraising event whose major sponsor is Circle K.  The fashion show featured professional models and United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) client models wearing fashions from six decades starting with the 1950’s and ending in the 21st century. Visual Effects & Motion Graphics students from The Art Institute of Phoenix produced the spectacular motion graphics backgrounds that were custom designed to each scene’s decade along with  a large projection mapping display that highlighted the entire event’s sponsors and UCP clients.

Fashion Marketing and Fashion Design students played a huge part in assisting to produce the show in conjunction with Robert Black. The UCP model’s accessories were designed and created by Fashion Design students under the direction of Helen Nosova.  Fashion Marketing students directed the entire fashion show and coordinated all the models and escorts back stage.  Digital Filmmaking & Video Production students filmed the entire event and provided a live feed of the event to the audience.  Students shot photographs of the entire event.  In addition, the press kit, program cover and invitation were designed by a student designer.

Twenty-five students from The Art Institute of Phoenix participated in the inspiring and successful event.  The students, staff and faculty provided an estimated $15,000.00 of in kind services to support this annual event that is estimated to have raised $50,000 for UCP!
