On March 9, 2016, fashion students at The Art Institute of Phoenix participated in an on-campus “Fashion Night Out” event featuring speakers from the Camuto Group. Merchandise coordinators Dani De Herrera and Sara Kearns talked of their close relationship with department stores including Dillards, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Vince Camuto stores. The Camuto Group brands include Jessica Simpson, Lucky, BCBG, Vince Camuto, Louise et Cie, and Vince Camuto Handbags.

Students learned how merchandise coordinators help to train associates and new managers, assist stores with visual merchandising, advocate for better floor placement, plan and execute special events, and predict seasonal trends.

The event was open to all students at no charge. Special thanks to Katy Hansen, Academic Department Director, Design and Fashion, The Art Institute of Phoenix, and AiProud for assistance in hosting the event.
