The 2017 IIDA International Student Design Charette, an interior design competition sponsored by Herman Miller, honored two students in the interior design program at The Art Institute of Portland this month. Hannah Martin (Interior Design, BFA) won first place as part of Team 9 and took the 2017 Neocon IIDA Student design charette. Jessy Miguel (Interior Design, BFA) and her Team 12 received an honorable mention.
IIDA Student Members from around the country competed in this live annual design competition held in Chicago. Students had less than six hours to determine a design solution, develop a presentation, and pitch their concept to a panel of esteemed judges. Final presentations took place on June 13 and winners were announced at the Winners Reception on June 14.
Hannah Martin and Jessy Miguel are mentored by Ai Portland interior design faculty Elizabeth Lockwood, Ellen Cusick, and Cassandra Martin.
