On May 18, 2017, Ai Portland students in the BFA in Interior Design program attended a presentation titled “The Biophilic Experience” hosted by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Oregon Chapter and NEWH (The Hospitality Industry Network) at The Cleaners at The Ace Hotel. The theme of the presentation was the positive effect some living spaces have on their occupants and the well-being experienced by the occupants as a consequence. People create positive memories in such places and want to experience them again and again.
The Ai Portland students who attended the event included Abdulaziz Alharbi, Sterling Evans, Rugiah Felemban, Dening He, Don Hollenbeck, Brittney Hopp, Danya Hyder, Alicia Jameson, Jacqueline Laris, Carol Mack, Jessy Miguel, Razan Mohammed, Murtadha Sami, Britney Schreck, and Alejandro Velez. Also in attendance were Interior Design faculty Ellen Cusick, Alicia Snyder-Carlson, and Elizabeth Lockwood.
