The Art Institute of Portland’s Media Department is excited to announce its most recent collaboration with Westgate Resorts! Beginning in spring of 2018, the Media Departments Virtual Reality (VR) Team Production Class is kicking off the development of a prototype training simulation for Westgate Resorts.

The VR training application will serve to aid in Westgate’s housekeeping training program. Westgate Resorts will also be donating to the Ai Portland’s Media Department for services associated with faculty support and equipment purchases to help grow our newest endeavors in VR, MR and 360 Filmmaking.

Lead faculty member in Game Art & Design, Nicole Dunsire, will be leading the class through a 9-month game production cycle. Anthony Pires, Department Chair of Media for Ai Portland and Victor Arguelles, Ed.D. (Senior Director of Learning & Development for Westgate Resorts) will serve as primary points of contact during production. Victor is a huge advocate for enhancing learning and development through emerging technologies within the hospitality industry. He is extremely excited about evolving their training through interactive VR experiences!
