Ai Portland at the FBLA State Conference

On April 5-7, 2018, The Art Institute of Portland participated in the Oregon Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Conference. FBLA is a national career and technical education organization aimed at “preparing students to become community-minded business leaders through relevant career and leadership experiences.” At the conference, students competed in various categories, including 3D animation, digital film, graphic design, and web design, among others.

Program directors Anthony Pires (Media) and William Siebold (General Education), resident life coordinator Susan Jones, and high school representatives Patrick Ragon and Samantha Bice served as judges. Media Arts faculty Jordan Lukrich hosted an engaging, informative, and fun Photoshop workshop. Over 70 students attended the workshop and provided excellent feedback. The three-day event concluded with an award ceremony at the Oregon Convention Center. Ai Portland sponsored the 3D animation category.
