UPDATE: Ai California—Sacramento Students Steal the Show at the 2018 Addys

The Art Institute of California—Sacramento, a campus of Argosy University, Students Win in District 14!

After sweeping the Addys locally in March, the Gold and Silver winners were forwarded on to compete at the district level. For those of us in Sacramento, that means we are in the American Advertising Federation’s District 14, which is comprised of all of Northern California and northern Nevada.

After winning at the District level, entries will go on to compete at the national level, which will be judged in Washington DC on June 8th 2018. Congratulations to those moving on to the nationals!

On Friday, March 9th, 2018, the Sacramento Advertising Club hosted a Gala event to celebrate and award local winning entries to the national American Advertising Federation’s annual Addys competition. The event was well attended by students, faculty and staff from The Art Institute of California—Sacramento, a campus of Argosy University, where students from the school swept every student category they entered.

Many comments were made about the high quality of the student work and how it compared favorably to the professional work that was submitted. The winning entries go on to compete at the regional level, and if they win at that level, they continue on to compete at the national level. 

Besides participating in the competition, The Art Institute of California—Sacramento played a major role in all aspects of the Sacramento Ad Club events around the Addys, including both the Gallery night which was held in February at The Art Institute, and the Gala event in March. Early on in the evening, The Sacramento Ad Club President, Chris Terrazas, thanked The Art Institute for all their hard work and contributions to the event. 

Art Institute of California—Sacramento current student Alejandra Gutierrez, Graphic & Web Design (BS), and alum Michelle Barnhill, Graphic & Web Design (BS), 2016 organized the entire Gala event. Many Art Institute students were involved in every aspect of running the event, from checking in guests to photographing the event.
