Develops Graphic and Web Layouts and Illustrations for Online and Print

Leticia Campaz is a web developer and graphic designer for Federico Beauty Institute, responsible for developing graphic and web layouts and illustrations for online media and print marketing. She says that there’s no typical day in her office, and she could be working on anything from a monthly newsletter to website content.

Leticia adds that she underestimated the time that it would take to build a solid reputation within the industry. “After graduating, I was ready to take on clients. But because I was so new to the designing and developing world, I had to build my client work. I spent years creating a brand for myself.”

She says that staying on top of deadlines and giving 150% to her work has helped her to establish herself in the design field. Her freelance business is called The Laboratory Design Studio. She recommends that current students stay focused on their passion for art and creativity. “Always do what you love. Someone out there will love what
you do—you might even be the inspiration they were looking for.”

Leticia, who in 2014 earned an Associate of Science in Web Design & Interactive Media from The Art Institute of California—Sacramento, says that her education prepared her for the real-world scenarios of the design industry. “It helped me to find my aesthetic and to evolve as an artist.” She says that working in a creative atmosphere makes challenges fun. “Confiding in my peers and teaching myself new things has always helped me to stay motivated for more.”
