Sacramento Culinary Teams Compete in California State Fair Sacramento Culinary Teams Compete in California State Fair

On July 24, 2016, two teams of student chefs from The Art Institute of California—Sacramento, a campus of Argosy University, faced-off at the California State Fair Culinary School Challenge.

Brandon Ott and Chang Yang competed against Brian Hughes and Mary Records. All students are working toward an Associate of Science in Culinary Arts from The Art Institute of California—Sacramento. Each team was given a mystery ingredient and asked to prepare a 3-course meal in front of a live fair audience and a panel of qualified judges.

The mystery ingredient was pineapple and team Brandon and Chang took home the victory. They prepared a seared steak with pasta entrée, fried tofu with dipping sauce appetizer, and blueberry peach cobbler for dessert.

Congratulations Brandon, Chang, Brian, Mary, and the entire school’s culinary program for a great show at the California State Fair.
