The characters and story were inspired by my emotional state. Allison Faye Mack Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art & Design, , The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg
What was the inspiration for your work?

I was inspired to create something and had no idea how to do it. I wanted to create something I thought was impossible and completely crazy to try. I utilized every class I could to build up to testing my abilities to get to a higher goal, starting in Color Theory to Character Design then 3D Modeling, 3D Rigging and, finally, 3D Animation. Ideally, the characters and story were inspired by my emotional state and how it changed over the course of realizing that something I once thought impossible was becoming my reality.

What we are seeing in your work and how did you approach your process?

The programs utilized to create these pieces comprised a harmonious marriage of Photoshop, 3DS MAX, Mudbox, and After Effects. Learning how to subjugate these programs was very empowering to mold the characters depicted. I built an entire world around the main character with every design, color palette, and style selection. “Trial and error” was my guiding line that I followed as I had to be experimental until I found exactly what felt right. I did not understand the scope of what I was trying to do when I started and it's been an amazing journey of discovery.
