Seattle Culinary Instructor and Student Participate in “Bite of Seattle”

Recently, Culinary Director Chef David Wynne and one of his culinary students from The Art Institute of Seattle participated in “Bite of Seattle,” the city’s premier food event. The festival features live music, hundreds of food vendors, and live cooking shows.
The festival’s organizers reached out to The Art Institute of Seattle’s culinary program to see if there was interest in participating in a live cooking show—in front of a large audience.
At the event, The Art Institute of Seattle’s culinary duo prepared a menu item from Portfolio Restaurant (the school’s student run restaurant): Peppercorn watermelon salad with smoked mozzarella and garlic croutons.
Photography students also were involved in the festival—building their portfolios of work by taking images at the event.
