This past fall the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation partnered with The Art Institute of Tampa, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, to create two $1,500 tuition scholarships for current students volunteering on projects supporting the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation. Student volunteerism ranged from working on digital film and photography projects for the foundation, to staffing the four-day Clearwater Jazz Holiday event at Coachman Park providing video production, sound, photography and VIP catering.

Scholarship applicants were evaluated on academic integrity, community service in their area of study, and quality of their essay submittal. Two winners, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Photography student Kelsie Crossley and Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Management student Alexis Shawver, were selected from the finalists and awarded their scholarships for the Fall 2018 academic term.

Crossley and Shawver were presented their scholarships at a special lunch held in The Tutored Chef campus restaurant.  Attending were representatives of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation board, Steven Weinberger, Lee Maidenberg, Deborah Flurnoy, and Gary Hallas.
