This fall the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation partnered with The Art Institute of Tampa , a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design to create two $1500 scholarships for current students volunteering on projects supporting the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation. Student volunteerism ranged from working on digital film and photography projects for the foundation, to staffing the four-day Clearwater Jazz Holiday event at Coachman Park providing video production, sound, photography and VIP catering.

Scholarship applicants were evaluated on academic integrity, community service in their area of study, and quality of their essay submittal. Two winners, Digital Photography (BFA) student Kelsie Crossley and Culinary Management (BA) student Alexis Shawver, were selected from the finalists and awarded their scholarships for the Fall 2018 academic term.

Crossley and Shawver were presented their scholarships today at a special lunch held in The Tutored Chef campus restaurant. Attending were representatives of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation board, Steven Weinberger, Lee Maidenberg, Deborah Flurnoy, and Gary Hallas.
