Effective September 30, 2023, The Art Institutes system of schools will be permanently closed.
This information is provided to assist students or graduates from the following Art Institutes locations.
• Miami International University of Art & Design
• The Art Institute of Atlanta
• The Art Institute of Austin, a branch of The Art Institute of Houston
• The Art Institute of Dallas, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design

• The Art Institute of Tampa, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design
• The Art Institute of Virginia Beach, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta
Transcript requests
To ensure that all current students including those on approved leaves of absences receive the necessary academic records required for possible transfer of credit to other institutions, The Art Institutes will mail each current student five official copies of their transcripts, at no cost to the student on or after October 1, 2023. Students who do not have current mailing addresses on file may experience a delay in receipt of the transcripts or may not receive their transcripts during this one and only mailing.
The National Student Clearinghouse provides 24/7 online transcript ordering. There is a fee (varies) for each transcript request. This is the only means to obtain a transcript for a closed Art Institute campus. Click here to request your transcript.
Completing Your Education/ Transfer Opportunities
We encourage you to complete your education at another school. The Art Institutes are working with numerous partners to facilitate student transfers. Transfer means you may be able to use the academic credits you have earned at The Art Institute toward the completion of a similar or different program of study at another school. If you are interested in completing your education and earning your degree, we ask that you return frequently to this website, www.artinstitutes.edu, which will be updated as transfer opportunities are identified.

Diplomas
Replacement Diplomas are available through the Registrar. This is the only means by which to obtain a diploma. Please email aiiregistrar@aii.edu to request a copy.
1098–T – Questions and Important Information
At the time of the Art Institutes closure, 1098-T Forms were mailed to all eligible students. To print a duplicate form, please visit https://heartland.ecsi.net/. If you are unable to locate your 1098-T and need further assistance, please contact Heartland ECSI at 1-866-428-1098. International Students
To determine how this closure affects international student visa status and remaining in the US, international students may contact the SEVP Response Center by email at SEVP@ice.dhs.gov or by phone at 1-800-892-4829 or 703-603-3400 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday; the response center is closed on holidays.
