Ai Bistro

Ai Bistro is a student-run restaurant that's open to the public. Located at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Tucson, Ai Bistro serves as the dining lab for students in the culinary program, offering a unique combination of real-world experience and instructional content.

Under the direction of Chef Brian Burton, culinary students nourish and delight patrons while taking the final steps on their path to becoming culinary professionals. From food ordering and preparation to guest seating and serving, Ai Bistro is a complete instructional environment for students that offers a quality dining experience to its patrons.

The three-course meal changes regularly. The restaurant features comfortable seating, natural light and a large viewing window into the professional exhibition kitchens where guests can see culinary students at work.

“Something Blue” – Fashion Through the Stages of a Young Woman’s Life “Something Blue” – Fashion Through the Stages of a Young Woman’s Life

WHO/WHAT:
From single girl to blushing bride, the milestones of a young woman’s life are stylishly portrayed through garments designed by fashion students at The Art Institute of Tucson. The designs will be displayed in three unique fashion vignettes, which can be viewed while enjoying an array of food tastings prepared by the school’s culinary students.

Along with designing and producing the garments, students also produced and executed the fashion show itself. The event provides students with real life fashion production experience and practical application of skills learned in the classroom. This unique fashion show also provides an opportunity for cross-collaboration across many programs. This includes the culinary students, who will present a delicious spread, making it truly an afternoon of fashion, food and fun.

Art Institute of Tucson Student Wins National ADDY Award Art Institute of Tucson Student Wins National ADDY Award

Sean Melen, a student in the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts & Animation degree program at The Art Institute of Tucson recently won a National Student ADDY Award

Sean Melen, a student in the Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts & Animation degree program at The Art Institute of Tucson recently won a National Student ADDY Award. His Greyhound PSA earned him a Silver ADDY at the National ADDY Award ceremony held during the Admerica conference on May 31.  He was the only student winner from District 12 (southwestern US). To make it to the national competition, he won a gold Student ADDY from the American Advertising Federation Tucson and a silver Student ADDY in the American Advertising Federation District 12 competition, where he competed against students from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Texas.
