Ai Bistro

Ai Bistro is a student-run restaurant that's open to the public. Located at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Tucson, Ai Bistro serves as the dining lab for students in the culinary program, offering a unique combination of real-world experience and instructional content.

Under the direction of Chef Brian Burton, culinary students nourish and delight patrons while taking the final steps on their path to becoming culinary professionals. From food ordering and preparation to guest seating and serving, Ai Bistro is a complete instructional environment for students that offers a quality dining experience to its patrons.

The three-course meal changes regularly. The restaurant features comfortable seating, natural light and a large viewing window into the professional exhibition kitchens where guests can see culinary students at work.

Student Designs Recruitment Calendar for Tucson Police Department Student Designs Recruitment Calendar for Tucson Police Department

(TUCSON, AZ December 2015) - For the second year, The Art Institute of Tucson worked with the Tucson Police Department on its annual recruiting calendar. Several Graphic Design students were selected to compete in a design competition to create the Tucson Police Department’s 2016 recruiting poster/calendar. The students presented concepts to the police department, and the top design was developed. 

The winning design was created by Justin Bright. Second place went to Ronnie Reimers, and third place went to Emiko Higman. All are students in the Bachelor of Arts in Graphic & Web Design degree program. 

The Recruiting Unit at the Tucson Police Department will begin to distribute the calendars to various areas in the community.

The Art Institute of Michigan Teams Up with the Rachael Ray Show to Provide Cooking Lessons The Art Institute of Michigan Teams Up with the Rachael Ray Show to Provide Cooking Lessons

The Art Institute of Michigan is teaming up with the Rachael Ray Show to provide cooking lessons to the students enrolled at Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program. During filming of the Rachael Ray Show’s Thanksgiving episode, on Monday, November 16, Ray unveiled a completely renovated kitchen for the students, complete with new appliances and a study space. To help Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program get the most out of this new kitchen, The Art Institute of Michigan is going to provide four lessons/demos on healthy eating and nutrition at the gym throughout the next year. 

Three culinary instructors from The Art Institute of Michigan appeared on the show to announce the gift of the cooking lessons, and the episode will air Wednesday, November 25. (Tucson, July 2015)  Maria Sevilla, a 2014 graduate of The Art Institute of Tucson with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, had her short film, “Man Under the Moon,” screened at this year’s Festival de Cannes, May 13-24, 2015.

Two Art Institutes students are winners of the American Advertising Awards (AAF) Two Art Institutes students are winners of the American Advertising Awards (AAF)

(The Art Institutes, June 2015)  Two Art Institutes students are the recipients of the National Silver Student ADDY award.  The American Advertising Awards recognizes creative excellence in advertising.


Matthew Mann, a student at The Art Institute of Tucson in the Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design program was selected for his entry, “Home Depot Billboards”.  His entry also won a Gold Student ADDY Award® from AAF Tucson and a Gold Student ADDY Award® in the AAF District 12 competition. 


Christopher Lopez, a student at The Art Institute of California Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University in the Bachelor of Science Graphic Design program was selected for his entry, “HAUS of Wonderland Illustration Campaign” He also won in the Gold Student Addy Award® from AAF Inland Empire.
