The Art Institute of Vancouver to award multiple tuition scholarships this year - Creative minds are encouraged to apply
January 16, 2014
In the continual effort to make college more affordable, The Art Institute of Vancouver is on track to award a variety of tuition scholarships to those individuals with a creative drive and seeking to pursue a degree in the areas of design, media arts, culinary, and fashion in 2014.
“Paying for college can be overwhelming in the economy we’re in, and finding sources of assistance gets tougher and tougher,” said Brian Parker, president of The Art Institute of Vancouver. “We’re proud to announce we’re offering these tuition scholarship opportunities to those that are most deserving or those that bring their creativity to the table.”
Scholarships include need and merit based scholarships, as well as scholarship competitions where entrants are challenged to showcase their creativity and passion for their preferred program of study. Tuition scholarship competitions include The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition, The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition, The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef and Culinary Scholarship Competition, and The Chopped Scholarship Competition. Entry requirements vary by scholarship opportunity.
The Art Institutes Passion for Fashion Competition offers high school seniors the opportunity to submit their fashion entry for an opportunity to win up to a half-tuition scholarship, a VIP trip to New York City for a meet and greet with Seventeen Magazine, and a shopping spree. Deadline to enter the competition is February 6, 2014.
High school seniors and graduates can apply for The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts Poster Design Competition. Entrants may apply by submitting a poster design that interprets the theme “You Can Create Tomorrow” for a chance to win up to a full tuition scholarship and a trip to Washington, DC for a congressional reception celebrating the arts. Deadline to enter the competition is January 30, 2014.
The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef and Culinary Scholarship Competition and The Chopped Scholarship Competition puts foodies to the test. High school seniors can enter the Best Teen Chef Competition, high school graduates can apply for the Culinary Scholarship Competition; and both high school seniors and graduates can apply for The Chopped Scholarship Competition. In addition to tuition scholarships, finalists in the Best Teen Chef competition can earn an expense paid trip to New York City for a VIP tour of the Food Network studios. The deadline to enter all three culinary scholarship competitions is January 23, 2014.
