The Art Institute of Virginia Beach Holds Commencement Ceremony
July 10, 2017
The Art Institute of Virginia Beach, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, recently held its commencement for students in programs including culinary, photography, graphic design, animation, interior design, and fashion. The event was held on June 20, 2017 at the Sandler Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brent Reynolds, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, was named valedictorian.
A speech was given by David Sorrells, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs. Sorrells said to students, “You did it. You’re graduating from college. You have worked endlessly, studied profusely, slept barely, and thought boldly. All of that is done now, and you are putting The Art Institute of Virginia Beach behind you, as a done deal, an accomplishment. But it’s not the end, not the crowning accomplishment of your life. What feels like the end is often a beginning. This, this day, this moment is the beginning of anything you want. This is the part where you find out who you are.”
Also in attendance was Marilyn Burstein, President, The Art Institute of Virginia Beach.
