Maurice Simmons is the executive chef and owner of Intimate Culinarian, LLC in Chesapeake, Virginia. He’s responsible for managing the business, preparing for upcoming events, and working with clients. Maurice also uses technology and social media to promote his business.

Maurice is excited to own his own business and says that he’s inspired to be creative in the dishes that he makes. He recommends that current students understand that success does not happen quickly—it takes work and dedication. “[You must be] willing to pay your dues.”

Maurice, who in 2015 earned a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts Management from The Art Institute of Virginia Beach, says that his education prepared him for the competitive culinary industry. “[It introduced me to] different cuisines and ingredients from around the world.”
